Product information "ArtemiaVita StarterSet (100ml ArtemiaVita + 1kg salt)"
Breeding Artemia. High-quality live food for fish and shrimps.
Freshly hatched Artemia nauplii are a first-class live food for smaller aquarium fish, ornamental shrimps and corals. These nauplii are particularly suitable for rearing fish and shrimp larvae. Although the hatching of Artemia cysts is easy in itself, eggshells are left behind, which often have to be laboriously separated from the freshly hatched nauplii. Remaining eggshells can harbor germs that can cause disease outbreaks in fish larvae and impair their digestion. In extreme cases, this can even lead to death.
Artemia live food is suitable for:
- Larvae of freshwater and saltwater fish, including discus, neon tetras, cichlids
- Larvae of crabs and shrimps, ornamental shrimps
- Shellfish, corals and anemones
- Seahorses Larvae of axolotl and other newts
Separating Artemia nauplii from eggs. That was yesterday.
Anyone who already knows algova knows that we love simple solutions. That's why we developed ArtemiaVita. Decapsulated Artemia eggs that still hatch! The Artemia eggs are decapsulated using an innovative process and preserved in a special salt solution. With a hatching rate of 95-99%. Made in Germany.
Artemia eggs, the next generation.
ArtemiaVita is supplied as a liquid Artemia breeding batch in a sustainable glass bottle and stored in the freezer at -18°C. It is therefore stable for at least 1.5 years. It therefore has a shelf life of at least 1.5 years. Do you want to breed fresh Artemia nauplii? No problem! Open the freezer, shake vigorously, dose with the enclosed dosing cap, hatch the Artemia nauplii. Open the tap. (Wash off.) Feed. Done!
And with a maximum slip rate of 95-99%. Are you curious? Then try it out and become part of the ever-growing ArtemiaVita fan club.
Breeding Artemia with instructions. Step by step.
At algova, we only offer you first-class Artemia eggs with hatch rates of over 90%. ArtemiaVita even has a hatching rate of 95-99%. In order to really achieve these rates and reduce user errors, every ArtemiaVita delivery comes with comprehensive step-by-step hatching instructions. Including a self-diagnosis questionnaire in case it doesn't work right away. Below you will find brief instructions on the hatching process and a video that guides you step-by-step through the rearing process. IMPORTANT! ArtemiaVita cannot be hatched in the Hobby Artemia bowl.

Feeding recommendation ArtemiaVita:
Artemia eggs can be used both in hobby aquariums and in professional aquaculture. All batches of Artemia eggs from algova are checked internally. Please shake vigorously before use and bring the eggs into suspension. Add 5 ml of mixed solution per 1 liter of brood stock. For maximum hatching success, we recommend conical containers with strong aeration. Rearing trays with passive incubation are unsuitable for decapsulated eggs.

Hatch ArtemiaVita. It's very simple. Step-by-step.
6-page hatching instructions in German and English are included with every order. Also included is a self-diagnosis questionnaire if something doesn't work right away.
Step 1
Prepare saltwater solution
Mix boiled tap water or osmosis water with 15 to 30 g of salt per liter. We recommend ArtemiaSalt from algova for this. The special composition increases hatching success as it is free from unfavorable metal ions and the toxic release agent E535. This is not always the case with many sea salt mixtures or commercially available table salt.
Step 2
Container
!ATTENTION: ArtemiaVita cannot be incubated in the Hobby bowl! For optimum incubation success, the eggs should not sink to the bottom. The container should be cylindrical and tapered towards the bottom. The ventilation tube should reach to the bottom of the cone. Do not use aluminum parts. These are toxic to Artemia in combination with salt water.
Step 3
Coarse bubble aeration !
ATTENTION! We advise against using a wooden diffuser as it causes eggs and nauplii to be skimmed off. The aeration pipe should have a diameter of 4 to 8 mm so that coarse bubble aeration is possible. The air pressure should be as low as possible, but just strong enough to keep the eggs in suspension. The eggs must not sediment! Incorrect aeration will significantly reduce the hatching rate.
Step 4
Open the freezer.
Shake vigorously. Remove the bottle from the freezer, shake the solution very vigorously for at least 20 seconds before opening (the solution contained is liquid despite frozen storage!) and dose 5-10 ml per liter with the enclosed dosing cap.
Step 5
Set hatching parameters.
Temperature: 25°C - 28°C
pH value: 8.0-8.3
Oxygen: > 2 mg/l
Lighting: > 2000 lux
Step 6
Ventilation off. Open the tap.
If all parameters are set correctly, the majority of the nauplii will hatch in the time window from 24h to 32h after starting. Open the tap. Collect nauplii. (Rinse.) Feed. Done!
