Hi, wir sind Andy und Hilke – die Gesichter hinter algova. Schön, dass wir uns kennenlernen!
Natürlich gehören noch ein paar weitere Gesichter zum algova-Team, die täglich ihr Bestes für euch geben – Millo in der Produktion, Matti im Versand und Emma im Backoffice.
Wir sind stolz darauf, ein kleines, aber sehr feines Team zu sein, das schnell-flexibel und familiär zusammenarbeitet.
Über die Jahre sind zudem einige Kunden zu engen Wegbegleitern geworden. Mit ihrem wertvollen Feedback und ihren anspruchsvollen Herausforderungen ergänzen sie unser Team immer wieder auf partnerschaftliche Weise.
One thing all our products have in common: They are sustainably produced and free from fishmeal, soy, grains, as well as unnecessary additives or fillers. A species-appropriate feed that does not come from the sea and is still so good – that has been our mission since the company was founded in 2014.
We complement this idea with two other central aspects: highest product quality and easy application.
Andy is therefore constantly tinkering with new products to make our feed even better and to make the use, for example of high-quality live food, even less stressful and time-saving. Dso that you have more time to admire and study your animals.

All product ideas come from Andy's mastermind. Since childhood, he has been an enthusiastic researcher and tinkerer, magically drawn to everything that creeps and flies in the water. A children's room full of aquariums and animals, wins at "Jugend forscht", studies in marine biotechnology and bioprocess engineering, as well as positions at AWI and AquaSander led him into aquaculture. There, he helped build Europe's largest recirculating saltwater fish farm in Völklingen at the time, to protect the seas from overfishing.
But fish feed from oceanic catch was used as food – a circumstance Andy could no longer support. That was the motivation for founding algova – in the home pantry kitchen of the two-room apartment. Hilke was involved from the start, after all, it was her kitchen too. :)
At some point, the kitchen and living room became too small, and it moved into an old dog salon a few houses down the street. Eventually, algova relocated to its current location: an old bakery in the "platten Land" on the edge of the Lüneburg Heath.

Warum? Weil wir finden, dass ein Start-up mit Spezialisierung auf Futtermittel nicht in eine überteuerte Großstadtregionen gehört, sondern dahin, wo gute Lebensmittel für Mensch und Tier von verantwortungsvollen Landwirten erzeugt werden.
Wir sehen uns als Teil dieser bodenständigen Gemeinschaft und freuen uns sehr über die herzliche Aufnahme auf dem "platten Land". Außerdem ist hier die Internetverbindung ganz wunderbar und wir kennen alle unsere Paketdienste persönlich :)
