Freshly hatched Artemia nauplii are a first-class live food for smaller aquarium fish, ornamental shrimps and corals. These nauplii are particularly suitable for rearing fish and shrimp larvae. Although the hatching of Artemia cysts is easy in itself, eggshells are left behind, which often have to be laboriously separated from the freshly hatched nauplii. Remaining eggshells can harbour germs that can cause disease outbreaks in fish larvae and impair their digestion. In extreme cases, this can even lead to death.

In order to really achieve these rates and reduce user errors, every ArtemiaVita delivery comes with comprehensive step-by-step hatching instructions. Including a self-diagnostic questionnaire in case you don't get it right first time. Below you will find brief instructions on the hatching process and a video that guides you step-by-step through the rearing process. IMPORTANT! ArtemiaVita cannot be hatched in the Hobby Artemia bowl.

Mix salt water. 30g per 1 litre of osmosis water.

Conical cylinder with coarse bubble aeration. Remove ArtemiaVita from the freezer and shake vigorously for 20 seconds, dose with 5-10ml per 1 litre.

Refrigerated shipping
We ship ArtemiaVita with UPS Express with integrated drop-off authorisation or DHL throughout Europe and other countries on request. You know best which delivery service delivers reliably in your region and can choose one of the two providers accordingly.
Shipping usually takes 1-2 days.
ATTENTION: Orders received from Wednesday afternoon onwards are usually not dispatched until the following Monday. Please contact us if you have kittens that cannot wait. We will check whether we can offer you an unscheduled dispatch.
ArtemiaVita comes to you chilled with ice packs. To avoid your parcel being left in a warehouse, a delivery vehicle or a shop over the weekend, we currently only ship from Monday to Wednesday.
Example: You order on Wednesday evening and your order will be dispatched on the following Monday. Please also always note the current delivery times that we specify.
Please contact us if you have kittens that cannot wait. We will check whether we can offer you an unscheduled dispatch.
Important first: Please make sure that you put ArtemiaVita in the freezer immediately after delivery.
We always adjust the amount of ice cream to the current weather and the shipping route so that it usually arrives well chilled. However, if the delivery service delays delivery and the bottle thaws or even gets warm - DON'T PANIC! ArtemiaVita can cope with short-term temperature fluctuations. This does not immediately affect the hatching rate. Current tests show that ArtemiaVita can be kept at 5 degrees for up to 6 months - without loss of hatching.
However, should unexpected problems with the slip rate occur, please contact us so that we can find a solution together.
ArtemiaVita does not hatch
ArtemiaVita comes to your home with illustrated step-by-step instructions. Please read these carefully beforehand, as the hatching of ArtemiaVita eggs has some special features that need to be taken into account:
- Hatching in the hatching tray does not work! Please use a conical incubator, such as the JBL Artemio Set or a comparable model.
- Shake the ArtemiaVita bottle vigorously for 20 seconds after removing it from the freezer. It is best to turn the bottle upside down. If you hold the bottle up to the light, the liquid should no longer be translucent. Only then dose.
- Use osmosis water: drinking water is sometimes too heavily contaminated in some regions.
- Use 30 g/1 litre of Artemia salt. Ideally, you should use our Artemia salt, which is specially formulated for our Artemia eggs. If you use other salt, please check the checklist to see whether it may not be suitable (due to release agents etc.).
- Maintain a constant temperature of 25 degrees over the entire hatching period. Otherwise the hatching rate will slow down.
- Coarse bubble aeration: So strong that the eggs remain in suspension, but not so strong that they foam on top. Important: The aeration must go all the way to the bottom.
- Disinfect the cylinder and air hose after each slip or thoroughly rinse new cylinders several times to remove plasticiser residues.
- Continuous lighting with a classic table lamp.
- ArtemiaVita starts to stink? This indicates bacterial contamination. Clean everything very thoroughly and start a new hatch.

The ArtemiaVita hatching instructions contain a checklist (DE/ENG) which is always used if the hatching does not work at all or only insufficiently. Please go through this to find initial clues for possible parameter optimisations.
