SUSTAINABLE ANIMAL FEED

Hermetia larvae offer a sustainable source of protein with great potential for the future. Compared to conventional protein sources, the production of insects is particularly resource- and climate-friendly. The larvae are fed exclusively with plant residues and are an excellent alternative to fish and soya meal. The soldier fly larva is a welcome change and a special treat for all insectivorous animals.

REGIONALLY PRODUCED

Our Hermetia larvae are bred according to the latest standards in the EU under controlled conditions. They are fed sustainably with locally sourced vegetable waste, which helps to reduce the ecological footprint.

FREEZE-DRIED AND FILTERED

In contrast to the majority of Hermetia products on the market, which are microwave-dried (the product pops like popcorn) and can therefore be low in nutrients, our Hermetia larvae are preserved by gentle freeze-drying at low temperatures. This method optimally preserves the valuable ingredients such as omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins. In addition, the larvae are thoroughly cleaned of food residues and substrate, resulting in an end product of particularly high purity. The low density of the freeze-dried larvae makes them ideal as floating food for many aquarium and garden pond fish and water turtles.

RICH IN NUTRIENTS

Hermetia larvae are rich in proteins, minerals, fats and valuable calcium. The ideal calcium-phosphorus ratio supports skeletal and bone development in reptiles, small animals, koi and ornamental fish and ensures a balanced diet.
