Fresh live food is an essential component in the rearing of fish fry. It helps fish larvae grow quickly, healthily, and without deformities.

Especially for the initial feeding of small or particularly sensitive fish species, the nauplii of conventional Artemia eggs are often too large, while copepod nauplii can be too small. Our Artemia microcysts fill this gap: particularly small, high-quality Artemia eggs with an average nauplii size of only about 430 µm.

Thanks to their very high hatching rate, small nauplii size, and high Omega-3 HUFA content, the microcysts are ideal for rearing demanding fish larvae and juveniles. The high natural nutrient content generally makes additional enrichment unnecessary.

Feeding recommendation The freshly hatched nauplii should be fed within 24 hours of hatching. Alternatively, the nauplii can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. When rearing demanding fish larvae, we recommend further enriching the nauplii with omega-3 algae to increase their nutritional value. We recommend our algae-based product RotiBomb for this purpose. The Artemia nauplii can also be raised to Artemia crustaceans with RotiBomb. Fish larvae: Artemia nauplii should be fed mainly or as a supplement during the first 20 days of life of most fish larvae. Freshwater aquarium: Artemia nauplii survive up to 24 hours in freshwater. As the nauplii remain free in the water for a very long time, they encourage the natural hunting behaviour of the fish. The fish are busy hunting nauplii all day long. Cichlids in particular can be easily lured out of their hiding places in this way. Marine aquarium: The natural hunting behaviour of the fish is also encouraged here. In addition, many reef inhabitants are food specialists that are dependent on feeding with live food such as Artemia.
